2014 human rights-focused work produced the framework for the unprecedented Women’s Regional Development Agenda. In 2016, it was converted into an actionable agenda.

This Agenda captures women’s collective understanding of the Region’s problems in line with the seven pillars on which sustainable development is built:

  • citizen participation
  • education
  • health
  • economics
  • justice
  • gender equity
  • environment

More exciting, it (1) relays women’s long-term vision for their Region in each of these areas and (2) lists their rights-based solutions to problems in the form of needed public information campaigns and development projects.

Ongoing work is guided by this document.
