Theory of Change

Sustainable development is most readily achieved when citizens freely and judiciously exercise their economic and political rights to effectively promote their own development.

PSYDEH understands that increased human development fuels more and informed citizen participation. Citizen participation drives local, state and national democratic governance. These are key to development and most effective when simultaneously strengthened. Informed participation and responsible governance lead to transparency, accountability and improved delivery of basic services.

Explained in the context of ongoing projects, the Region, Mexico and the World need our work to strengthen local women leaders in the Sierra Otomí-Tepehua Region of Hidalgo with an eye to their (1) becoming more aware of rights, laws and responsibilities and (2) building their own (a) solutions to problems and (b) representative bodies to increase demand for, and supply of, quality basic services.
